Anonymous asked: I personally have been at 20mm for two years and I can't even leave my plugs out for more than half an hour without them tightening up real bad. I have to work at them with Tea tree oil for a good 10 minutes just to get my plugs back in.
I would stop using tea tree oil altogether. Your lobes are healed but tea tree is so super drying it will not be helping much. Jojoba oil and emu oil are recommended and I’m pretty sure coconut oil is pretty good too. Holey butt’r is amazing as well. They will also moisturize instead of drying out so you might notice a difference.
However, everyone is different so it might just be that your lobes are like that. Have you tried wearing slightly heavier plugs? (Such as glass or stone).
Anonymous asked: I read briefly over your faq so this may be in there, I'm not sure, if it is I'm sorry! Anyway, is it safe to sleep without any jewelry in? I've been at 5/8th's for nearly two years and I'm afraid of sleeping without jewelry because I fear something will get in/on my ear or it will shrink or the sides will be stuck together the next morning but I also feel like I'm doing my lobes wrong by sleeping with jewelry in. What should I do?
Definitely sleep without your jewelry in. Two years is plenty of time. If you are worried about getting your ears dirty just rinse them before you put your plugs back in. However if your lobes are fully healed there really is nothing that can affect your lobes too badly unless you are allergic to it or you cut them (which is kinda hard to do in your sleep). Leaving your jewelry out will also help your lobes stay in wonderful healthy condition which is always a bonus. I tend to leave mine out for as long as an entire 24 hours but not everyone can do this.
